Paolo Carzana

Paolo Carzana is the eponymous label of the Welsh designer. Working with plant-based, recycled, organic and repurposed materials, natural dyes and handmade construction, Carzana’s creations explore the tensions between strength and fragility.

Carzana debuted at London Fashion Week in September 2022 with his SS23 collection titled Imagine We Could Be the Ones to Change It All. This was followed by his catwalk debut in February 2023 with the AW23 collection Queer Symphony which was widely applauded as ‘the opening of another chapter in the fairy story of London fashion by Vogue’s Sarah Mower. These highly-acclaimed work came after his lockdown collection Another World, presented at LFW DiscoveryLab in June 2021. Collaborations with hat maker Nasir Mazhar on headwear and sculpture further expands Carzana’s artistic ventures.

Carzana currently holds the British Fashion Council NEWGEN award while serving as an artist-in-residence at the Sarabande Foundation established by Lee Alexander McQueen. Prior to these achievements, he received scholarships such as the British Fashion Council and Kering Scholarship for Sustainability, LVMH Grand Prix Scholarship, and James Pantyfedwen Scholarship that supported his MA education at Central Saint Martins. As an undergraduate at University of Westminster, Carzana interned at Walter Van Beirendonck and Versus Versace.
